The Pin Oak is a fast growing, large deciduous tree with a dense pyramidal crown. It has a district central leader and graceful drooping habit. With shiny green foliage with deep cuts and pointy lobes that turns deep red in autumn. it is known to have deeper colour in colder areas. Suitable as a specimen tree, in carparks, streets or avenues. It will need pruning of the lower branches in accessible locations. It thrives in acidic soils and tolerates heavy soils.
