Native to Western Australia. The name Blackbutt is derived from its blackened trunk by bush fires in nature. This is a small tree in dry locations and a tall forest tree where there is damp soils. It has rough, thick furrowed bark. Leaves are dull green/ blue. White flowers appear in summer months. Some very old specimens are well over 30 meters in height.
