Native to Western Australia this is a most popular ornamental gum tree because of its spectacular flowers which occur in summer months and the shade it provides. It has rough bark and a rounded dense crown. Its leaves are dark green on top and paler green underneath. When in bloom the flowers can cover the foliage making it quite outstanding.
