A native evergreen conifer to Australia. It is a small to medium ornamental tree that grows in an upright, dense conical form when young and produces brown globular seed pods. Ideal as a screening tree, windbreak and shade specimen. It thrives under warm coastal conditions. Prolific on Rottnest Island and along the coast on Quindalup dune system where the soils are alkaline.
